Celebrating Indigenous Heritage Month

Celebrating Indigenous Heritage Month

Info

The Center for the Healing of Racism invites the community to join us in Celebrating Indigenous Heritage Month, honoring the traditions, voices, history, and contemporary impact of Native and Indigenous communities.

This gathering encourages participants to understand Indigenous history beyond a European-American lens and to recognize the importance of actively preserving Indigenous cultures through respect, education, and awareness.

For centuries, Indigenous and Native Indian histories were often prevented from being shared, taught, or openly discussed. Today, we have an opportunity to learn from Indigenous peoples, recognize their influence on contemporary movements—including environmentalism—and consider how education, understanding, and justice can help repair relationships.
